Greater Phoenix Urban League Young Professionals

Welcome to the Valley, where the sun shines bright and the Greater Phoenix Urban League movement is going strong. Greater Phoenix Urban League Young Professionals (GPHXULYP) was founded in 2005 to provide opportunities for professional development, civic engagement and community empowerment among professionals ages 21 to 40.

Join a National Movement

Our organization is the local chapter of National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP), a National Urban League volunteer auxiliary founded in 1999 to enable young go-getters to empower their communities and change lives. Our mission is to support the Urban League movement through volunteerism, philanthropy and leadership development.

NULYP started off with people just like you – people looking for an opportunity to make a difference. Now is your time! There has never been a more urgent need for people with your talent, drive and compassion across the Valley of the Sun. Learn more about NULYP and our local YP chapter. Sign up to become a member.

YP CoNext Youth Mentoring Workshops are organized to connect minority high school students with minority young professionals in the Valley.

For the month of March, the students attending the YP CoNext workshop will engage in conversation with young professional men and women who are graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and predominantly white institutes (PWIs). It is imperative that students are exposed to both types of institutions, to help them decide on the college or university that is a good fit for them.

The conversation will be transparent from the Alumni and students will complete the workshop informed with an enhanced perspective of the different types of institution. Additionally, students will participate in a working session for writing personal statements for college admissions.
